About Melissa: Strength Through Struggle

 I’m Melissa Jimenez—military veteran, lung cancer survivor, NASM-certified personal trainer, certified nutrition coach, ProNatal Fitness Specialist, and Low Pressure Fitness (LPF) Level 1 & Level 2 trainer. I founded Making Strydz to help adults rebuild strength, confidence, and wellness through evidence-based training that meets you exa

 I’m Melissa Jimenez—military veteran, lung cancer survivor, NASM-certified personal trainer, certified nutrition coach, ProNatal Fitness Specialist, and Low Pressure Fitness (LPF) Level 1 & Level 2 trainer. I founded Making Strydz to help adults rebuild strength, confidence, and wellness through evidence-based training that meets you exactly where you are in life.


My journey with fitness began in 2005, driven by a passion for movement and helping others improve their health. In 2019, my life took an unexpected turn—after months of unexplained symptoms, I was diagnosed with lung cancer. In November 2021, I had one lung removed.


The recovery process was challenging. I lost strength, mobility, and confidence—but gained perspective, resilience, and a deeper understanding of what it means to rebuild. This experience taught me that lasting transformation isn’t just physical—it’s emotional, mental, and purposeful.


I started Making Strydz to give people a roadmap for rebuilding their bodies and lives—whether you’re recovering from surgery, navigating midlife changes, or becoming a new parent. I combine personal experience with professional expertise to create programs that are safe, effective, and empowering.
